A journey between Mum’bye’ – ‘Hi’derabad

It’s been a long time since I published my last blog post back in March 2010. Now I am trying my best to pen down my thoughts on my stay in Mumbai.

Oct 2010 – I have completed my fresher learning program in mainframes in Capgemini and was on bench for three long months (But sometimes I felt it as a short period of golden time). Few of my batch mates got interview calls from a project in Mumbai and they rejected to come down to Mumbai for working in that project. After 6 to 7 rejections from our batch mates, I have got my chance on one day. I felt that as an opportunity in my career, answered the questions and accepted the offer. I was a bit happy and scary about leaving Hyderabad and moving to Mumbai. My batch mates saw me as if I did a mistake by accepting the project offer in Mumbai.

Nov 2010 – I came to Mumbai for the first time with lots of aspirations, dreams and one goal in my mind (to survive in this project). The project team was comprised of members from different parts of India. I was the only Telugu speaking person in the team and moreover I do not have any contacts here. Initially I felt alone for few days, faced lot of troubles with my stay in Mumbai. I also missed the days when I used to play Table Tennis in the office and share laughs with my friends. So, I had decided not to stay here for more than a year.

Dec 2010 – I have got many friends after shifted to a new room and enjoyed my stay there. I have got news that my team is going to start with few members in Hyderabad as well. And one more Telugu speaking guy has joined our team in Mumbai. I was so happy and saw a ray of hope in moving back to Hyderabad in near future.

Year 2011 - Firstly, the year 2011 was a year of goals for me and turned out to be a remarkable year in my career. I have had many memorable moments in this period of time in my professional career. Since it is my first project in IT, I have set many goals for myself and I am happy that I have reached most of them today.

I have got support from each of my team member and learned a lot in this project both technically and functionally. I had lot of fun in the team and I never forget the team outings, early morning & night shifts, and parties (especially Juice parties in cafeteria) that we celebrated.

In my 14 months of stay in Mumbai, I mainly focused on my career and stayed away from many things that I used to do. Now I am going back to reach my destiny – Hyderabad. So, it’s the time for me to move on. It’s the time to learn new things. It’s the time to set new goals and achieve them. And finally it’s the time to start playing my favourite sports again like Cricket, Badminton etc.

Looking forward to have a fun filled time in Hyderabad.
